Dr. Linda S. Goggin, MD

Dr. Goggin has worked her way through the medical fields- from nursing assistant to registered nurse, to receiving her Medical Doctorate from Emory University in Atlanta, GA. Her medical career has spanned the gamut of practice, including community outreach as the Medical Director of the Swain County Health Department, being a rural “family doc” doing house calls in Bryson City, NC, working in a bustling family practice, and finally opening her own independent clinic.

Several years ago Dr. Goggin developed “mystery symptoms”, finding herself looking through the eyes of the patient with dismay, as conventional medicine could not identify the root source of the problem. Like many a patient who knows something “is just not right” she began an exploration of all facets of medicine, looking for an answer. Her research and evolution as a doctor and patient gives her unparalleled breadth of understanding as a functional medicine physician. She understands the patient experience, and brings hope to those who are on their own quest for wellness.

In addition to her expansive medical knowledge, Dr. Goggin is also gifted in handling the emotional aspects of healthcare. Prioritizing listening to each patient’s story, she actively involves them in developing their own health plan. She takes great pride in educating her patients so they do not continue to make the mistakes of their past and can instead feel empowered to make better decisions as they continue their health journey.
